At the last WECA annual meeting, the formation of the WECA Landscape Committee was announced. The purpose of this committee is to help facilitate communication between Woods Edge (WE) homeowners and Valley Landscape (Valley). Several people volunteered to be on the committee (Bobbi Avery, Susan Baker, Nancy Felch, Marianne Goldschmidt and Arnold Schuetz). I (Debbie Koller) will serve as the acting Chair of the Committee. The group met March 30 to discuss their role. Basically, once a month, a few committee members will walk around the neighborhood with a representative from Valley to point out issues to be addressed. Please note that the issue needs to fall within the parameters of the WE contract with Valley for lawn care, spring mulching, periodic weed control, pruning of shrubs (max. 12 ft. high), and fall leaf clean-up. The Association’s contract does not include removal of old plants or installation of new plants.
WE residents are encouraged to use the [email protected] email to alert us to issues within their limited common area that they feel need to be addressed by Valley. In your email, please be as specific as possible about the issue(s); attaching pictures can be helpful. The location should be described from the viewpoint of someone facing your front door, e.g. “left side of the house on the back corner” or “to the right of the garage of the garage door”.
Of course, homeowners can speak directly to a Valley manager about an issue but are encouraged to also let the committee know (through the [email protected] mail) so that we can follow up on it. If you have specific questions, please feel free to contact me directly. Debbie Koller
